Aprilia Racing arrives at the 2026 Aragon MotoGP carrying high confidence. After securing a double podium through Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi at the British Grand Prix, the Noale-based factory squad is now targeting victory at a circuit that has long stood as one of Marc Marquez's undisputed strongholds.

The Aragon MotoGP is scheduled to take place on 30 August. For Aprilia, this championship round presents an opportunity to extend their positive form, while also testing exactly how far their motorcycle development has progressed when competing head-to-head against the seven-time world champion.

Aprilia Racing Team Principal Massimo Rivola acknowledges the challenge ahead will not be simple. Aragon holds a long, established history with Marc Marquez, but this fact only acts as additional motivation for his squad.

"We are fully aware the next race falls on Marc Marquez's territory, but we will employ every possible measure to remain competitive," Rivola stated via the official Aprilia Racing website.

Marc Marquez Holds A Dominant Record At Aragon

Marc Marquez shares a unique, special connection with the Aragon Circuit. The Ducati Lenovo rider holds the all-time fastest lap record at the venue, and ranks as one of the most dominant figures in the entire history of the Aragon MotoGP round.

The seven-time world champion has collected seven career victories at Aragon, standing as the rider with the most wins at this circuit across all MotoGP eras.

Marquez also holds the record for most pole positions at Aragon, with seven pole starts to his name. This track record means he automatically becomes the pre-event favourite every time MotoGP returns to this layout.

Even so, Aprilia has solid grounds to arrive with optimism. Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi just delivered the team's strongest result of the campaign at Silverstone, crossing the line in second and third place respectively.

This double podium result confirms that Aprilia is now able to compete consistently at the front of the field.

Rivola intends to carry this momentum directly into the Aragon round. The team's target is not merely another podium finish, but to break Marc Marquez's long stranglehold over one of his most favoured circuits.

Marquez Enters Aragon In Less Than Ideal Form

Aprilia's ambitions are given a small advantage by Marc Marquez's sub-par situation coming out of the British MotoGP round.

Marquez failed to break into the top five during the main Silverstone race, settling for a seventh place finish at the end of a difficult weekend for the Ducati Lenovo rider.

Aprilia will look to capitalise on this dip in form. That said, Marquez's historic record at Aragon makes clear that one underwhelming round does not guarantee the competitive balance will shift for the next event.

With seven victories and seven pole positions to his name, Marquez remains one of the clear strongest contenders when MotoGP returns to Aragon.

For Aprilia, the core challenge will be converting their positive performance from Great Britain into an outright win on territory that has become synonymous with Marquez.

Aprilia Begins To Disrupt Ducati's Dominance

Aprilia's improvement over recent championship rounds has added fresh excitement to the MotoGP battle. The performances of Martin and Bezzecchi have demonstrated the Noale squad now possesses the raw pace to pressure Ducati.

Their double podium in Great Britain is the latest evidence of this progress. Should they sustain this level of performance at Aragon, Aprilia has a genuine opportunity to blow the championship battle wide open.

Conversely, Marc Marquez will certainly be looking to respond. After failing to secure a maximum result at Silverstone, his spiritual home round at Aragon represents the perfect chance to return to the very top of the podium.

The 2026 Aragon MotoGP is shaping up to be a compelling duel between Marquez's long-established track dominance and Aprilia's surging new momentum.
