Lautaro Martinez does not hide his pride after finding out Barcelona has placed him on their transfer radar. However, interest from the Spanish giant club has not shaken the captain's commitment to Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old Argentina national team striker confirmed his future remains rooted at Giuseppe Meazza. Lautaro stated he only has one desire: to continue his journey with the Nerazzurri.
"News about Barcelona makes me proud, but I want to stay here. My only wish is to remain at Inter," stated Lautaro Martinez, as quoted by Tribuna on Thursday.

This statement serves as firm confirmation amid circulating rumours regarding Barcelona's interest. For Lautaro, being linked with one of Europe's biggest clubs is certainly an honour, but the bond he has built with Inter carries far greater weight.
Lautaro Martinez's bond with Inter Milan
Lautaro is far more than just Inter's leading striker. Since joining the club from Racing Club in 2018, the Argentine has developed into one of the most influential figures in the dressing room, before eventually being trusted with the captain's armband.
This connection extends well beyond professional on-pitch duties. Lautaro has explained he holds a deep emotional bond with both the club and its supporters.
"I love this club, I love the people here, I love the fans," he stated.
The personal fulfilment Lautaro finds in his career in Milan is the core driver behind this decision. He has even confirmed he will remain at the club for as long as Inter want him there.
This stance aligns with Inter's official position throughout the 2026 summer transfer window. The Nerazzurri have clearly stated from the very start that Lautaro is not listed for sale.
Lautaro contracted until 2029
Lautaro's commitment to Inter is also backed by solid contractual security. In August 2024, he signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Italian club until 30 June 2029.
This long-term deal confirms Lautaro's status as a central pillar of Inter's long term project. At 29 years old, he remains one of the key players relied upon to maintain the club's competitiveness at both domestic and European level.
Since his arrival from Racing Club in 2018, Lautaro has scored 175 goals across 378 appearances for Inter.
His contributions have helped Inter win three Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and three Italian Super Cup victories.
