Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa's bid to finish the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup inside the top three standings came to an end on Saturday, after he failed to score any points during the first Austrian GP race at the Red Bull Ring Circuit.
The Indonesian rider crossed the finish line in 16th position. According to official event organizers, Fernando Bujosa took victory in this opening Austrian GP race, followed by Kristian Daniel Jr in second place, with Fynn Kratochwil completing the podium.
This result leaves Kiandra steady in 8th position in the provisional standings with 106 points. He now sits 53 points behind Ryota Ogiwara, who holds third place.

Revealing the Secret of the Final Lap Maneuver at Spanish GP, Kiandra Ramadhipa Key to 2026 Red Bull Rookies Cup Title
With only one race remaining in the 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season, Kiandra can no longer mathematically challenge for third position. The second Austrian GP race is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 20 September 2026.
Even if Kiandra were to win the final race and take the maximum available 25 points, this total would still not be enough to overtake Ogiwara's points tally.
Failing to secure a top three finish has also made Kiandra's path to a 2027 Moto3 seat significantly more difficult. Championship regulations grant an automatic entry pathway to Moto3 for the top three placed Rookies Cup riders, even for competitors who have not yet turned 18 years old.
That said, there is still an age threshold that must be met: riders must be at least 17 years old at the start of the Moto3 season.
This same rule previously allowed fellow Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama to compete in the 2026 Moto3 championship at just 17 years old, after he finished as runner-up in the final 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup standings.
Kiandra Still Has An Open Path To 2027 Moto3
While the Rookies Cup promotion pathway is now closed, Kiandra has not yet lost his chance to secure a 2027 Moto3 seat.
The rider from Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, still has an opportunity via the 2026 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship. Kiandra currently sits 5th in the standings with 80 points.
He is also not far off the top three positions, trailing third placed Giulio Pugliese by just 21 points, who currently holds 101 points.
Four races still remain on the calendar for Kiandra to close this gap. Two rounds will be held at the MotorLand Aragon Circuit in Alcaniz, Spain, on 25-27 September.
Following that, the final two races of the season are scheduled to take place at the Misano World Circuit in Rimini, Italy, on 16-18 October.
If Kiandra can finish inside the top three of the 2026 FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship final standings, he will qualify for a Moto3 team seat for the 2027 season.
This eligibility is also supported by his age: Kiandra will turn 17 on 4 December 2026, meaning he will meet the minimum age requirement for a Moto3 entry.
2026 Rookies Cup Title Battle
Meanwhile, the battle for the overall 2026 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup championship title will go right down to the final Austrian GP race.
Benat Fernandez currently leads the standings with 164 points. Fernando Bujosa sits just behind in second place with 160 points, while Ryota Ogiwara is third with 159 points.
All three riders remain in contention to claim the championship title at the season finale.
However, the composition of the top three is now mathematically locked. Fourth placed Kristian Daniel Jr has only accumulated 130 points, and can no longer catch any of the three riders above him.
As such, attention at the second Austrian GP race will not only be focused on crowning the 2026 Rookies Cup champion, but will also mark the final opportunity for Kiandra Ramadhipa to end his campaign in the series on a positive note.
