Having Caused Bayern Trouble in the Champions League, the Morocco National Team Midfielder Has Been Officially Recruited by Die Rotten.

Ismael Saibari has officially embarked on a new adventure with Bayern Munich after leaving PSV Eindhoven during the summer transfer window. The Morocco international midfielder is the latest addition to Vincent Kompany's squad ahead of the 2026/2027 season.

Bayern Munich did not make the decision to sign Saibari abruptly. His performance against Die Rotten in the UEFA Champions League last January was one of the key moments that convinced the club to secure his services.

Bayern Munich Sporting Director Max Eberl stated that the club had been monitoring Saibari's development for a considerable period. However, that match against PSV became direct proof of his capabilities.

"We have known about Ismael for quite some time. That final confirmation that he was the right player for FC Bayern came during the match against us, when he was playing for PSV," Max Eberl was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Saturday.

Saibari Once Gave Bayern Major Problems In The Champions League

During that Champions League fixture last January, Saibari's play disrupted Bayern's midfield while he was still representing PSV Eindhoven.

Although Bayern eventually secured a 2-1 victory, the Moroccan midfielder's performance left a distinct impression on the club's management and coaching staff.

Eberl assessed that Saibari fits Bayern's requirements perfectly, from his physical strength to his ability to cover all areas of the pitch.

"He constantly caused us problems through his playing style, physicality, positioning, pace, and work rate. He has that special something about him," Eberl explained.

This performance was ultimately one of the reasons Bayern deployed their scouting team to closely track Saibari's progress, before finalising the decision to sign the player.

Bayern View Saibari As A Versatile Player

For Bayern, Saibari's value extends far beyond just his ability as a central midfielder. The Morocco international is regarded as having the flexibility to operate in multiple positions.

"It was very clear that Saibari was our top target. We are thankful that all this hard work has paid off successfully," Eberl stated.

After departing PSV Eindhoven, Saibari now faces a new challenge at one of Europe's biggest football clubs.

Competition for a starting spot in Bayern's midfield will be far from easy. Nevertheless, his physical strength, pace and mobility will provide Vincent Kompany with an extra option when constructing his side's play.

Recently Recovered From Hamstring Injury

Saibari joins Bayern having just completed his recovery period from a hamstring injury.

He sustained the injury while on international duty with Morocco at the 2026 World Cup. After finishing his rehabilitation process, Saibari has now linked up with his new teammates at Bayern.

His arrival forms part of Die Rotten's preparations for the upcoming 2026/2027 season. Bayern are hoping Saibari can quickly adapt to Kompany's playing system and deliver contributions across all competitions.
