Persija Jakarta will soon hold a meeting with coach Shin Tae-yong to discuss squad composition ahead of the 2026/2027 Super League kickoff. The Macan Kemayoran management has granted full authority to the South Korean coach to determine all squad player requirements.
Persija Jakarta Sporting Director Bambang Pamungkas confirmed the meeting will be held in the near future. This agenda is critical as Persija's transfer window has not yet fully closed, meaning the team roster may still see changes.
"As of this moment, we have not received any official update from Coach Shin regarding player needs. Prior to this, we have already welcomed new signing Alexander Jeremejeff from Sweden. Whether there will be additional incoming players, we will just have to wait and see," stated Bambang.

So far, Persija have brought in multiple new players to strengthen the squad. One of the most high-profile recruits is Swedish striker Alexander Jeremejeff, who is expected to improve the sharpness of the club's forward line.
However, Jeremejeff's arrival is not guaranteed to be the club's final signing. Management will wait for Shin's formal evaluation before making decisions on any further player acquisitions.
Bambang Confirms Shin Has Full Squad Authority
Bambang emphasized that club management will not interfere excessively in player selection. All player recruitment is fully delegated to Shin Tae-yong, aligned with his tactical requirements and planned squad structure.
"We will most likely meet with Coach Shin within the next one to two days to confirm what requirements are needed and check the progress of preparations. Everything is being handled directly by Coach Shin," he added.
Bambang noted Shin has been granted very wide autonomy to build Persija for the new season.
"As we have stated on previous occasions, all matters relating to the squad and team composition are 100% under the authority of Coach Shin Tae-yong," said Bambang.
Persija Have 33 Players, Squad Not Yet Finalised
Ahead of the 2026/2027 season, Persija currently have 33 registered players, including 11 signings acquired during the summer transfer window.
While this is already a sizeable squad, management do not consider this the final roster, as team registration for the 2026/2027 Super League remains open until 29 August 2026.
Multiple Strikers Linked To Persija Transfer Rumours
Persija is still rumoured to be pursuing additional strikers to strengthen their attacking line. Dani Gomez from Spain, Antonio Colak (Croatia), Kenan Kodro (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Marko Dugandzic of Croatia have all been named as players on Macan Kemayoran's transfer radar.
However, there is no official confirmation on which player will ultimately be signed. Persija management has elected to wait for Shin Tae-yong's full evaluation before making any final transfer decisions.
