Persija Launches New Squad and Jersey, Brisbane Roar Will Serve As Their Trial Match Opponent

Persija Jakarta will use this international friendly match against Brisbane Roar as part of preparations ahead of the 2026/2027 season. The Macan Kemayoran are scheduled to unveil their new squad and kit, produced in collaboration with adidas, at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in North Jakarta on upcoming 29 August.
The event, themed "Rise for Glory", will conclude with the friendly fixture between Persija and the Australian club Brisbane Roar, kicking off at 19.00 WIB.
This match will be Shin Tae-yong's squad final opportunity to evaluate the team's readiness before entering the 2026/2027 Super League competition which commences early September.

Persija is waiting for the name from Shin Tae-yong to complete the Macan Kemayoran squad.
Persija Jakarta President Mohammad Prapanca stated that this event is designed as a milestone to introduce the club's new face, while also uniting the team with their supporters ahead of the new season.
"Through this event, we will introduce Persija's latest squad and kit, welcome our sponsors that have become part of our journey, and host this international friendly match that will serve as Persija's final preparation before we embark on the 2026/2027 Super League campaign," Prapanca was quoted as saying from Persija's official website.
Persija has framed this event as a shared celebration with the Jakmania, who have long been an integral part of the Macan Kemayoran's journey. The "Rise for Glory" theme was selected to reflect the club's ambitions heading into the new season.
"Most importantly, we hold this event as a form of appreciation and joint celebration for the entire Jakmania community, who will always remain a vital part of Persija's journey. We hope the 'Rise for Glory' spirit will become energy for the whole Persija big family to face the new season with greater ambition and spirit," he added.
This theme represents Persija's desire to keep growing, improve team mentality, and carry bigger ambition through every step of the club's journey.
The squad launch, new kit unveiling, and the Brisbane Roar fixture are all expected to mark the starting point of the team's journey before they enter official competitive matches.
Following the Brisbane Roar match, Persija will fully shift focus to their opening 2026/2027 Super League fixture. The Macan Kemayoran are scheduled to face last season's runners-up Borneo FC on 5 September at 19.00 WIB.
After that, Persija will host a home match against defending champions and their eternal rivals Persib Bandung at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on 12 September at 15.30 WIB.
The match against Brisbane Roar will provide Persija the opportunity to finalise all their preparations before facing these two tough opening challenges.
