Remontada! Persib Bandung defeated Persijap Jepara 2-1 in the 2026/27 Super League.

Persib Bandung took all three points home after staging a comeback to beat Persijap Jepara with a score of 2-1 in the third matchweek of the 2026/27 Super League.

Playing at Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium, Jepara on Sunday, 20 September 2026, Persib fell behind first after Persijap opened the scoring via Pirulo's penalty kick.

However, Maung Bandung showed a positive response. Thom Haye equalised the score before Uilliam Barros scored the goal that secured Persib's victory.

These additional three points bring Persib's total to 6 points, lifting the club to 4th position in the temporary standings. Meanwhile, Persijap remains in 15th place with zero points from three matches played.

Persijap Takes The Early Lead

Persijap immediately attempted to take control of the match right from the opening minutes. Vasko Kalezic got an opportunity to open the scoring in the 4th minute, but the chance failed to produce a goal.

Persib faced trouble in the 11th minute. Jose Lopez Pirulo released a shot that hit Ikhwan Tanamal's hand inside the penalty box.

The referee then awarded a penalty for Persijap.

Pirulo himself stepped up as the executor. He successfully directed the ball past the goal guarded by Teja Paku Alam, putting Persijap ahead 1-0 in the 13th minute.

Falling behind pushed Persib to increase their pressure. Thom Haye nearly scored an equaliser with a curling shot from outside the penalty box, but the ball drifted just wide of the left side of Rakha Surya Handika's goal.

Haye got another chance in the 19th minute. This time, his powerful strike only hit the crossbar.

The rebound fell to Patricio Matricardi, but the Persib player's follow-up attempt also went wide.

Thom Haye Equalises The Score

Persib finally found the goal they were looking for in the 21st minute.

Starting from Ikhwan Tanamal's cross, Thom Haye met the ball with a firm header. The ball flew into Persijap's goal, changing the score to 1-1.

After this goal, Persib continued to apply pressure.

Haye tried to score again with a left-footed shot, but Rakha Surya Handika managed to make a save with his foot.

There were no additional goals until the first half ended. Both teams headed to the dressing room with the score level at 1-1.

Barros Puts Persib Ahead

Persib played more aggressively as the match entered the second half. The pressure built by Maung Bandung finally resulted in the second goal in the 54th minute.

Uilliam Barros took advantage of Najeeb Yakubu's mistake in controlling the ball. The Persib striker won possession before finishing the chance from close range.

The ball hit the back of Persijap's net, putting Persib ahead 2-1.

Trailing behind, Persijap tried to increase their attacking intensity. Vasko Kalezic threatened again with a shot from outside the penalty box.

However, Teja Paku Alam remained alert to secure the ball.

Persijap actually managed to score an equaliser in the 72nd minute. Yaya Sogodogo successfully put the ball into Persib's goal.

However, the goal was disallowed. The referee ruled that Sogodogo committed handball, so Persijap remained trailing 1-2.

Entering the 82nd minute, Pirulo got another opportunity via a free kick. Unfortunately for the home side, the ball flew just over Persib's crossbar.

Two Disallowed Goals Stop Persib Extending Their Lead

Persib later appeared to score their third goal through Luka Menalo in the 85th minute.

However, the goal was disallowed as Menalo was already in an offside position.

Menalo got another golden opportunity just two minutes later. He managed to go one-on-one against Persijap's goalkeeper.

Unfortunately, his finishing attempt went wide of the target.

Persijap kept trying to create chances in the final minutes, but Persib's defence successfully protected their lead.

There were no additional goals until the match ended.

Persib Bandung locked in a 2-1 victory over Persijap Jepara after falling behind early on. This result also secures Maung Bandung six points from three matches in the 2026/27 Super League.
