Jakarta - The launch of Persija Jakarta's squad for the 2026/2027 season has encountered off-field problems. The Jakmania has formally announced that they will boycott the pre-season friendly match against Brisbane Roar FC on 29 August 2026, as a protest over increased ticket prices.
This stance was published by The Jakmania via their official Instagram account on Thursday. The boycott decision was made after the Persija supporters group confirmed that no mutual agreement had been reached with the club management regarding match ticket pricing.
Ticket prices for the match against Brisbane Roar have increased compared to the squad launch event from the previous season. Lower tier stand tickets rose by IDR 150,000, while upper tier tickets increased by IDR 130,000. These listed prices do not include tax and administrative fees.

"Based on the above circumstances, The Jakmania hereby declares a boycott of Persija Jakarta's friendly match against Brisbane Roar FC scheduled for 29 August 2026," the official statement from the supporter group read.
The Jakmania Raises Concerns Over Supporter Voice
The Jakmania explained this issue is not only about the amount of the price increase, but also concerns the breakdown of proper communication between club management and the fanbase.
According to the group, Persija management failed to accommodate supporter objections that were previously submitted against raising ticket prices for the squad launch event.
The fixture against Brisbane Roar holds important significance, as it is scheduled to be Persija's final pre-season test match before the club begins their 2026/2027 Super League campaign.
This match was supposed to be the moment for The Jakmania to welcome the new squad, and observe the readiness of the team managed by Shin Tae-yong.
The supporter group stated fans are being unfairly disadvantaged, as they are now forced to pay significantly higher costs to attend the squad launch event in person.
They argue the squad launch should be an inclusive event accessible for all supporters, not one that creates unnecessary barriers through pricing.
Demand For Ticket Prices Reverted To Previous Season Rates
The Jakmania has further urged Persija management to immediately adjust ticket prices and fully restore the rates that were applied for the squad launch event in the prior season. This demand is the core requirement attached to the publicly announced boycott position.
Previously, Persija had released the official tiered ticket pricing for the squad launch event.
Regular Category 1 tickets are priced between IDR 250,000 and IDR 350,000. Category 1 Family packages are offered starting from IDR 900,000 up to IDR 1,200,000, while VIP tickets are listed for between IDR 500,000 and IDR 1,600,000.
The Persija vs Brisbane Roar fixture will be held on 29 August 2026. For Persija, this match is a critical final evaluation to assess squad readiness following completion of the full pre-season preparation programme.
For supporters, this match was also intended to be their first opportunity to welcome and watch the team's updated new roster in action.
