Putra Tri Ramadani Wins Bronze at 2026 WCS Koper, Indonesia Takes the Podium

Indonesian sport climber Putra Tri Ramadani, popularly known as Srondeng, brought home a bronze medal from the 2026 World Climbing Series (WCS) Koper held in Slovenia.

Competing in the men's lead category, Srondeng concluded the final round with a score of 28+. This result placed the Indonesian athlete in third position and officially secured him a podium spot.

The championship title contest was dominated by two Japanese athletes. Neo Suzuki claimed first place and the gold medal after recording a 33+ score, while Satone Yoshida secured the silver medal with a 30+ result, according to official competition data published by World Climbing.

Srondeng's podium potential was visible from the qualification stage. The 20-year-old athlete posted a 5.1 score to finish in seventh position, which was enough to carry him through to the semi-final round.

Srondeng improved his performance in the semi-finals. He finished in fifth place with a score of 33, successfully earning his ticket to the final round.

The final match was tightly contested, featuring athletes from strong climbing nations including Japan, Italy and South Korea. Srondeng successfully overcame most of the challenges presented on the competition route.

Even so, his final score was not sufficient to surpass the results of Neo Suzuki and Satone Yoshida who held the top two positions. Srondeng ultimately settled for third place and returned to Indonesia with a bronze medal.

This achievement in Koper delivered a positive outcome for Srondeng, while also fulfilling the target set by the Central Board of the Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (PP FPTI). Prior to the tournament, the federation had expected its athletes to perform at full capacity and advance all the way to the final stages.

The 2026 WCS Koper also holds important strategic value for Indonesian sport climbers as preparation for larger upcoming events. Participation in this tournament provides valuable competitive experience along with opportunities to improve global world ranking positions.

Additionally, this international competition circuit forms part of Indonesia's preparation for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan. This multi-sport event is scheduled to take place from 19 September to 4 October 2026.

Following his podium finish in Slovenia, Srondeng now carries important additional experience ahead of competing at the continental Asian level. His consistent performance from qualification through to the final round serves as positive foundation for the Indonesian sport climbing programme ahead of the 2026 Asian Games.
