Aldila Sutjiadi, alongside her doubles partner Erin Routliffe, has successfully advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 US Open. They secured this spot after defeating the Indonesia-Canada pairing of Janice Tjen and Leylah Fernandez in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

This second round match was held at Court 17, New York, United States on Saturday, 5 September 2026. According to WTA official data, Aldila and Erin required 1 hour and 31 minutes to seal their victory over Janice and Leylah.

The contest was tightly contested right from the opening game. Both pairs managed to hold their serves consistently, however Aldila and Erin proved far more clinical whenever break opportunities presented themselves.

In the first set, Aldila and Erin created five break point chances and successfully converted three of them. This conversion efficiency was the deciding factor as they closed out the opening set 6-4.

Janice and Leylah actually had more opportunities to turn the match around. Across both the first and second sets, they earned six break point opportunities. However, they only capitalised on one single chance, representing a 16.7% conversion rate.

Heading into the second set, Aldila and Erin maintained their aggressive returning game. This pressure resulted in two service breaks which allowed them to hold their lead right until the end of the set.

By closing out the second set with another 6-4 scoreline, Aldila and Erin confirmed their straight sets victory and officially locked their place in the 2026 US Open round of 16.

When reviewing serving statistics, Aldila and Erin also demonstrated better overall efficiency. They won 73.2% of points on their first serve, narrowly ahead of Janice and Leylah who recorded a 72.2% first serve win rate.

A more significant gap appeared on second serve performance. Aldila and Erin won 53.8% of their second serve points, while Janice and Leylah only managed a 36.4% success rate here.

Aldila and Erin finished the match with one ace and two double faults. Meanwhile, Janice and Leylah also hit one ace, but committed six double faults over the course of the entire match.

Aldila and Erin's advantage was also clear in total points won. They secured 68 out of the 125 total points played, equal to a 54.4% share.

In comparison, Janice Tjen and Leylah Fernandez collected 57 total points, accounting for 45.6% of all match points.

This result confirms that Aldila Sutjiadi and Erin Routliffe will continue their campaign at the 2026 US Open. Meanwhile, Janice Tjen and Leylah Fernandez's tournament run ends here following their second round elimination.
