With the Robert Rene Alberts case resolved, Persib Bandung has been cleared of FIFA sanctions.

Persib Bandung has confirmed that the player registration ban sanction previously imposed by FIFA has been permanently lifted. This confirmation reopens the path for Maung Bandung to register players, after the club resolved the long-standing case involving former head coach Robert Rene Alberts.

PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB) stated that the sanction was revoked after the club fulfilled all payment obligations in accordance with the ruling that formed the legal basis of the case.

Adhitia Putra Herawan, Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, stated that club management took immediate action upon receiving notice of FIFA's decision regarding this unresolved historical matter.

"After learning of FIFA's decision on this legacy case relating to the 2022 period, we immediately mapped out all required steps and fulfilled the payment obligations in compliance with official applicable procedures," Adhitia stated in Bandung on Wednesday.

According to Adhitia, official confirmation of the lifted sanction is documented in an official FIFA letter dated 11 August 2026, Reference Number FDD-28859.

In this correspondence, FIFA confirmed that all case proceedings against Persib have been formally closed, after receiving verification that Robert Rene Alberts has received full payment as mandated by the original case ruling.

FIFA has formally declared that Persib's prohibition on registering new players is permanently revoked, and has instructed the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to immediately lift the corresponding restriction at the national domestic level.

The removal of the registration ban is critical news for Persib, particularly as the club finalises its squad ahead of the 2026/2027 competitive season.

With this matter now fully resolved, Maung Bandung can refocus full attention on team operational requirements and activity in the player transfer market.

Adhitia emphasized that Persib chose to resolve this issue through a professional and accountable approach.

"For this club, every decision issued by official regulatory bodies must be respected and acted upon responsibly. When there are outstanding obligations that require settlement, we establish clear priorities and take all necessary action to ensure the matter is resolved properly," he stated.

He added that finalising this case forms part of Persib's ongoing commitment to upholding professionalism and proper club governance as a professional football organisation.

Adhitia noted that Persib management will continue to prioritise objective, measured approaches when addressing any matter relating to the club.

"When handling any issue, we always prioritise rational rather than emotional conduct. We assess every situation objectively, examine all relevant aspects and their consequences, then determine action based on clear priority scaling," he concluded.
