Marc Marquez's Health Becomes the Center of Attention Following His Shocking Confession at the British MotoGP.

Ducati Lenovo rider Marc Marquez made a shocking admission after competing in the 2026 British MotoGP at Silverstone Circuit. He revealed his physical condition has not fully recovered, to the point he struggled to control his right arm during the race.

The Silverstone weekend proved to be one of the most demanding rounds for Marquez. The Spanish rider failed to break into the top five, finishing ninth in the Sprint Race and taking 7th position in the main Grand Prix on 9 August.

This result falls far short of the standard expected of the seven-time world champion. Marquez even openly stated his biggest issue did not originate from the Ducati motorcycle, but rather his own physical state.

This admission came to light in a video published by Ducati, where Marquez confessed he felt physically unwell and had lost proper control over his right arm.

"Today, tyre performance was actually better. However, I was not physically in peak condition. I even felt at real risk of crashing because I could not control my right arm," stated Marquez, as quoted by Crash on Friday.

This condition hindered him from handling the motorcycle at multiple critical sections of the Silverstone circuit.

"Compared to practice sessions, I lost front tyre grip multiple times at Turn 1 and Turn 9. I do not like racing in that kind of state," he explained.

Marc Marquez's Shoulder Problems Return To Public Scrutiny

Marquez's admission has sparked questions regarding the rider's true condition, especially after he previously claimed his physical recovery was progressing well.

MotoGP journalist Simon Patterson assessed this confession confirms long-held suspicions that Marquez had not been fully transparent about his health.

"This whole time Marc hasn't told us the real situation. Now everything is clear. He kept insisting he was fine, when that was never actually true," remarked Patterson, as quoted by Motosan.

Patterson confirmed he received information from multiple sources close to Marquez regarding the 33-year-old rider's condition.

"I have spoken with several people close to him, and from what I was told, his shoulder still has problems. He has not recovered 100% - he is not even close to regaining full fitness," he added.

Marquez continues to struggle with his right shoulder despite undergoing repeat corrective surgery in May 2026. The three-week summer championship break was not sufficient time for him to make a full recovery.

Not Only Physical Issues: Ducati Motorcycle Also Underperformed

Physical limitations were not the only barrier Marquez faced at the British MotoGP. He also admitted he struggled to unlock the full performance potential of the Ducati throughout the Silverstone weekend.

Marquez started the main Grand Prix from 2nd position on the grid, but could not maintain his pace to contest the podium against Aprilia Racing duo Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin.

"We failed to find our top speed. At the end of the weekend we achieved a result that was underwhelming and fell short of our expectations," Marquez stated, as quoted from the official Ducati Lenovo website on Monday.

Marquez explained he recorded the fastest times through individual corners, but could not translate this pace into a fast full lap.

He acknowledged the 2026 championship would not run smoothly at all times. For this reason, Ducati Lenovo must continue working to maintain consistency and competitiveness across circuits with different characteristics.

"We will keep working hard to perform consistently and remain competitive at circuits that suit our package. That said, we also understand it is impossible for the motorcycle to operate perfectly at every single race," he concluded.

Following the Silverstone round, Marc Marquez drops to 4th position in the provisional world championship standings with a total of 200 points.
