This year's edition holds four separate competition categories. First is the Children's Turonggo Yakso division with 17 participating teams, followed by the Youth Turonggo Yakso division also with 17 entrants.

Meanwhile the Senior High School & Open Turonggo Yakso category has 9 participating teams, while the Senior High School & Open Non-Yakso division will have 15 competing groups.

These separated age and performance categories demonstrate how the festival brings together every group and generation within the Jaranan arts ecosystem.

Alongside the main competitions, 2026 FJTT also includes supporting programmes that let visitors see the human side of local art communities.

One such event is Samboja, short for Sambang Bolo Jaranan: this informal gathering is held for Jaranan communities to connect, exchange stories and hold open discussion.
